Any shocks after immigration?
Yep! Definitely weather!
What is wrong with it, guys?
Last night, there was a scary hurricane. I woke up in the middle of the night, staring outside my bedroom window at the huge trees bending here and there. I was literally hiding in my blanket, and every time there was a lightning strike, I was closing my eyes and hiding more.
I was thinking, “Oh, holy cow, what is wrong with the weather here? two days ago, the sun was shining like hell, and I was sweating like… heaven?!”
In the morning, there were broken tree branches on the ground. It was cool. Ok, I can accept that regarding the hurricane yesterday. But suddenly in the noon, it got hot again, and I turned the fan on. In the evening? Cool again, but not “morning-kind-of-cool,” rather “evening-kind-of-cool”!
I know politics is insane in Iran, but the weather is extremely sane! if it gets hot, it says hot for several months. Cold? Several months again. We then have Fall in which the weather is really Fall-like; cool yet a bit cold, rainy, and nice. We have Spring totally spring-like; warm and not hot, rainy and beautiful.
Of course, this is a bit different depending on the region in Iran you are in, but it is also great. In winter, if you travel to the west, you see real winter with lots of snow on mountains. If you travel to the south, it is warm and perfect for swimming. In the center of Iran at this time, snow is less, and you will experience dry, cold weather with a temperature difference between day and night.
The result?
You stay sane!
You store your winter clothes in the closet at the beginning of the Spring, and you KNOW that you will not need them for at least seven months! The same goes with Summer clothes.
Here?
Well, you have to pay a visit to my flat now in August: I have summer clothes and winter coats hanging here and there! I have no idea if I should wash the warm clothes and put them in the closet, as it may snow tomorrow! Really, I am prepared for everything.
There are lots of uncertainties in life. We don’t like them. I have solved lots of them by immigrating to Germany. I wish I could find a solution for the weather too 😐
Hmmm, I may get bored afterward, though… What should I complain about?
Oh life.
Sorry Iran. I will not turn into a free girl who takes things for granted and nags about crazy stuff like the weather. I will not forget what I experienced there. Never.
