“Duttons” phenomenon

  • General

I am pretty sure when they were creating the “Yellowstone” TV series, also the “1923” and “1883” as the chronological timeline of it, the prominent idea they had in mind was this:

Let’s build a show and introduce a male character that has zero equivalent in real world!

Seriously! See “John Dutton” in “Yellowstone”! He is strong, confident, fighter, patient and family man. He is funny, and he has that kind of smiling-eyes which kills females in one shot. Then, they gave him the dialogues that add up to the character, and at the end, you are encountering a male persona which you may never see in real life. I mean, live for 200 years; it doesn’t matter! Still, there is a very high chance that you will never see this character even in news or real stories or biographies or whatnot. I mean, it is not a matter of in-person encounter; this male persona does not exist, at all!

This is not the end, though; start watching 1923! Something worse is awaiting you there! “Spencer Dutton”! It is not fair, you know? When you are creating a movie or TV series, you must stay realistic! To some point at least, for the love of God! I am not even in the mood to describe “Spencer” for you because it hurts! Go and watch “1923” yourself. There is a new “Dutton” there who hunts lions and tigers! I mean, I don’t know other ladies and can not speak for them, but if it was up to me, I 100% would prefer a hunter man like Spencer who lives in caves, to these men walking around in our modern days. I am old-fashioned. To me, man must have the “Duttons” character, and the dynamic of relationships must be like the one “Duttons” have with their wives.

It is sad though that desiring this male character is like a never-come-true fantasy. On the other hand, it has always been like this. The media, I mean. They have never been representing the NORMAL life stuff, the NORMAL people. Female heroes are always thin, beautiful and cute; the characters’ outfits always meet high standards and stylish, even when they are in their home alone; no one licks the remaining of ice cream in the container; no one sit on the ground; no one farts!

Hmm, maybe I just need to imagine “Duttons” farting. It can make them more human…

Nope! I can make peace with farting thingy! They are still “Duttons”! A farting “Dutton”! Damn you media.
