Well, I traveled! – 03

… The most important thing for me – you know, who was dodging travel, mostly because of the logistics! – was to manage the transportation tickets. So I checked some applications to see what are my options to Budapest, and then to Prague, and finally coming home to Germany.

Dude, can you believe how folks used to roll without these handy apps? Must’ve been like chill city, right? No GPS stress, just going with the flow – literally! Life was probably all spontaneous and easy. If you missed a train, no biggie, someone would pop up to help you out. Humans being humans, you know?

But now? Oh man, we’re practically paralyzed! Let me hit you later with a Budapest saga that’ll have you nodding along. Just ride this story wave with me.

I have to confess that to improve my English – and not just typing based on vocabulary I already knew – sometimes I ask AI to rephrase my paragraph. Then I learn lots of idioms and words! I am extremely smart, right!? Thanks! You are smart too 😐 . Anyhow, “saga” is what I learned from the above sentence:

“Saga” is often used informally to refer to a long, involved story or series of events, typically with dramatic or humorous elements; “Budapest saga,” is a playful way of saying I’m about to share an interesting or entertaining story related to what happened in Budapest. It adds a touch of drama or excitement to the narrative.”

Drama and excitement well received?! Great! So… Where were we?

Transportation puzzle! So, I decided to hop on a flight to Budapest, and then to take trains to Prague and Germany. Why? Well, first off, I wanted to start with a fresh vibe, you know, not dragging through a long train ride from the get-go. And secondly, I really wanted to embrace the whole slow-travel thing, feeling the time pass instead of just zipping through the air.

Sure, I knew 7 hours on the train, twice!, would be a bit of a haul. But I was all about staring out of train windows and tracking my journey on Google Maps as I roll through city after city. Gotta savor the travel vibes! And, let’s be honest, going this route made the trip more budget-friendly! 😀

So, firstly, I reserved the flight. Then, after searching through different helpful applications, I found good choices for train ticket from Budapest to Prague and then to Germany.

It is good that when you plan your travel ahead, you can pay less for flight/train tickets. Now, I can get Germans – they’re out here planning vacations six months ahead! As a Persian who grew up in a land of unexpected twists, this whole planning thing was a whole new ball game for me. I mean, living in Iran is like being in a time machine. You wake up, and bam! A building’s collapsed, prices have done a double take, a plane decided to take a nosedive, and your internet speed’s stuck at 2 KB per second. How on earth can you plan for next week, let alone the next six months, in that unpredictable environment?

Everything was on track. Tickets landed safely in my email. The Budapest stay and the whole plan were sorted by that dude I mentioned earlier. That meant I could channel all my energy into figuring out the Prague situation! Spent a few days thoroughly searching Airbnb for a cozy spot. I needed a place for 2 nights, then a comfy crash at my pen-pal friend’s for another 2, and finally, one last night in Prague.

Yup! I was going to go for an almost nine-day adventure — 3 nights in Hungary and 5 nights in Czechia.

To be continued…
